Each half term we will be giving all the children in Reception the chance to complete a challenge. The challenges will be linked to their learning in school. There will be three challenges- bronze, silver and gold. Children can choose the challenge and complete as many as they would like.
Any challenges completed at home can be sent into school and shared with everybody. We will celebrate the children’s completed challenges on the website.
There will be plenty of time in which to complete a challenge as it is to be done over the half term (i.e before we finish for Christmas)
This half term the theme is: Trees
Our core books will be:
'Stickman’ by Julia Donaldson
‘Stanley’s stick’ by John Hegley
Draw a picture of a tree. This could be labelled.
Learn and remember a fact about a tree and be able to retell this fact in school to an adult. They could write this down with a picture.
Write some information about a tree of choice. This could be in the form of a fact sheet.
You may think of something else that your child would like to share linked to trees and which may inspire others.
Thank you, we look forward to seeing what the children can do!
Also, we would like to invite any Parents/Grandparents/Carers in who would like to come and read a story to a group of children during their Golden Time on a Friday afternoon.
If you would like to, please come and see Mrs McCusker.
