What is Justice?
Justice means more than making things 'fair'.
In order for a community to live together well in a just community it is important to have rules or laws that everybody sticks to. Imagine if there were no rules for people drving cars on the road.
As a School community we have our Golden Rules that help to maintain a fair and just community. It is important that everyone follows the rules.
Lady Justice is one of the most famous landmarks in London and is found on top of the Central Criminal Courts commonly called the Old Bailey. Designed as a symbol for justice:in her left hand she carries the scales of truth and fairness and in her right hand a double edged sword representing the power of reason and justice.
How blessed are those who keep justice, Who practice righteousness at all times!
'You shall do no injustice in judgment; you shall not be partial to the poor nor defer to the great, but you are to judge your neighbor fairly
He loves righteousness and justice; The earth is full of the lovingkindness of the LORD.
"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." Martin Luther King, Jr.
"At his best, man is the noblest of all animals; separated from law and justice he is the worst." Aristotle
