Whitchurch CE Infant & Nursery School

Autumn term 1 2017: Nursery

This half term we have been reading the story of Goldilocks and the three bears; recognising numbers to three; finding and counting three objects; writing numbers and meeting the ten town characters, King one, Tommy two and Thelma three. We have made three cookies for the three bears; checked that we have three bowls, chairs and beds and retold the story.

We have been working on our fine and gross motor skills—threading, cutting, printing, painting, chalking and using tweezers. We have been balancing, throwing, constructing and learning how to work together.

In phonics, we have been spotting rhyming words; listening for the first sound in words and singing nursery rhymes on our stage!

At lunch time, we have been trying new foods, using our good manners and are getting much better at using a knife and fork. In the snack shack, we have been washing and drying our own cups.

Next half term we will be reading Dogs by Emily Gravett.
